SMAI TAWI – YOGA

Most people don’t know that Yoga actually started in Africa and was shared with India. Smai is the African Egyptian (Kemetic) word for Yoga which means union or yoke. Smai Tawi means ‘union of the upper and lower self within this context. Smai Tawi (yoga) is a process by which one can engage in the union of the ego personality and the divine personality (ego and soul). Therefore, it is more than physical exercise in the form of postures. Smai Tawi is especially designed to help engender exceptional mind-body-soul health. Our Smai Tawi – yoga classes include not only the postures but also breath work, energy work, visualizations and meditations designed to help bring about the union of the higher and lower self.

MEDITATION

Meditation is a means by which we can bring about relaxation, internal transformation and peace in our lives simply by gaining understanding and control of our thoughts. Our meditation classes are an integral component of Smai Tawi – yoga and are designed to render mental clarity, purification of thoughts and feelings.  This gives rise to more positive outcomes and manifestations in life as a result of harnessing the power of thoughts and feelings. According to the National Science Foundation the average person has about 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80%  are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. Our meditation classes include both formal and informal meditation which is especially needed to help transcend and change the negative thought paradigm that we are currently trapped in.

BREATH & SOUND BOWLS

Practice special breathing techniques with crystal sound bowls being played live, designed to help you experience deep muscle and mind relaxation, joyful feelings and an immune system boost.  All of these promote a healthier mind, body, soul and life.

SPINE ALIGN

Poor posture, long hours in front of computers, tablets and phones can lead to spinal stress which can manifest as a stiff neck and spine, lost of natural curvature in the neck, neck and back pain.  Align your spine is a gentle way to safely address minor neck and spine discomfort and or stiffness through the use of stretches, resistance bands, chair disc and cervical spine stretchers.

VIBRATION ELEVATION

This class is all about vibration elevation! It is a great way to naturally raise your vibration by releasing stagnant negative energy and replacing it with positive free flowing energy. Come enjoy this fun upbeat way to release the stress and tension of the day, week, month or whenever and meet people just like you…dedicated to raising their vibration.

WHINE YOUR WAIST

A fun and upbeat way to loose inches around your waist, improve uterine health, tighten and strengthen your perineum, core muscles, pelvic floor muscles, detrusor muscle (bladder muscle) while whining / dancing to the greatest Afro and Caribbean beats.  This class is so fun and upbeat that you won’t even realize that it is a work-out!
